  • The patient material for this study was collected while the author was on the staff of the United States Veterans' Administration Hospital in San Francisco. The completion of the study was supported by NINDB grant-BT-856 while the author was at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Parts of this paper were presented at the 1961 and 1962 conventions of the American Speech and Hearing Association.
