  • This paper was presented at the American Speech and Hearing Association Convention in Cincinnati, 1957. The Association notes with regret the death of Dr. Fortune, who developed an outstanding rehabilitation center and research program. Dr. Earl D. Schubert (Ph.D.) is Acting Director of the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center.

  • The late George F. Fortune (M.A., Ohio State University, 1946) was Director of the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center and Training Director of Western Reserve University’s course in preparing administrators for community speech and hearing programs, the first such class in the nation.
