  • Preparation of the films was supervised by the author, the late Dr. John W. Kemper, Professor of Dentistry and Head of the Department of Oral Surgery, and Dr. Reed O. Dingman, Associate Professor of Dentistry, University of Michigan. The silent films were photographed by Charles R. Burd, Medical Photographer of the University of Michigan Hospital. The sound movies were made by the Jam Handy Company, Detroit. A reel of sound films, ‘Velopharyngeal Action in Speech and Deglutition,’ is now available for rental or purchase through the Audio-Visual Education Center, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
